1. The government of the Republic of Korea sternly protests the Japanese government’s renewed provocative action concerning Dokdo, which is clearly an indigenous territory of the ROK in terms of history, geography and international law, under the pretext of its Cabinet Office’s public opinion survey. The ROK government strongly urges the Japanese government to immediately stop such actions.
2. The ROK government deplores that the Japanese government keeps making preposterous claims over Dokdo and some of its political leaders repeatedly show arrogant words and behavior and erroneous perception of history. The ROK government makes it clear that such ahistorical words and behavior not only pose a serious obstacle to the forward-looking development of the ROK-Japan relations and reconciliation in Northeast Asia, but also go against the international community’s general perception of history.
